North East Food 2008 case study

Mr. Gopinath Kumar, Mr. Anando Khuro and Mr. Pradeep Malik were interviewed verbally as to how the flood has affected them in their village in Hathkhola? Their respond was that they were unaware of the swelling water coming towards their houses. It destroyed the entire village of 64 families. The incident happened on the 11th June 2008, morning at 6:00, which they can never forget.

The river Dikrong suddenly changes its course and due to which this unforeseen incident had happened. One family was washed away by this flood. After three days, their bodies were found floating on the flood water.

The rest of the villagers could somehow find a way to save themselves but they are homeless, living near the railway tracks and beside the roads. Mr. Gopinath and his father once had a land, house and a future but now they simply cannot express what they would do?? They simply go back and gaze at their past glory, the home they once lived in, now they only can think of resettling elsewhere, but the question is where and how to begin?
