Case Studies

Khoya Rongfar is 40 yrs old from Okehai village. He lives with his wife and 5 children. He is unemployed and alcoholic. He used to roam around the villages doing nothing. But after NEICORD’s intervention, he attended the VDC and the kitchen garden training programs which motivated him as a VDC member. Staff’s daily visit has motivated him to think for his people and is now actively  involved in all the activities and programs of NEICORD and for the development of the village. He has sowed seeds like carrot, tomato, egg plant, coriander and palak leaves.

 

Biren Rongpi hails from Sikari Kathar village, Lower Hatoka VDC. He is an unemployed and before NEICORD's intervention he goes around doing nothing much.  But after he attend the training programmes it has brought a new meaning to his life he says. A sense of responsibility to do for himself and the community. He has started with the kitchen garden and has sown the seeds like carrot, tomato, egg plant and cabbage.  He voluntarily helps the Project works and the community.

 

Health Camp, 2009

In collaboration with Metro Hospital, Dimapur, NEICORD organized a free health camp on 20th and 21st November 2008 for the people in the hill cluster of Borjon area. The Health Camp was organized for two days. 4 Doctors, 4 Nurses and 1 Pharmacist came for the camp. The people came from 40 different villages. The people really appreciated the Health camp as many received treatment which otherwise they would have to cover long distances (30-50km) to get treatment. The people received treatment for Malaria, Typhoid, Fever, Cold, Cough, Scabies and other diseases. Total number of patients that received treatment in two days was 600.
